Caregiving is an IMPORTANT ROLE in many people’s lives.

At times, it can be very REWARDING.
There will probably be a lot of laughter.

At other times, it can be extremely DIFFICULT and STRESSFUL.
There will certainly be a lot of tears.

It can also be VERY, VERY COMPLEX.

At times, you’ll need to be a HEALTHCARE PROVIDER.
At times, you’ll need to be a SUPERHERO.
At times, you’ll simply need to be a HUMAN BEING.

You’ll need tons of PATIENCE.
You’ll need a HUGE HEART, which will sometimes be broken.
You’ll need to be FORGIVING — forgiving of others and of yourself.

There will be times when you fight with all your might to keep your loved one healthy and alive.
There may also come a time when you know that it’s time to let them go — that they have suffered enough and there is no more to do.
You will probably have many regrets about things you do and things you fail to do. You are human after all — not a superhero.
Forgive yourself.
You are going through one of the most difficult — if not the most difficult — periods of your life. All while maybe working a full-time job, dealing with your own health problems, and trying to also take care of the rest of your family.
